A large building under construction burned to the ground in a residential neighborhood in Alhambra, sending flames and smoke skyward that could be seen for miles around and knocking out power in nearby homes and buildings. The Los Angeles County Fire Department says the fire was reported at about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday on Main Street in Alhambra near South Pasadena.
